Three-pad slipper conversion

This is an RC-scale replacement set that converts the standard two-pad slipper on YZ-2 series chassis to a three-pad configuration. The additional pad smooths engagement and allows finer preload and slip adjustments without changing other drivetrain parts.

The three-pad layout moderates clutch engagement and helps maintain more consistent torque transfer under repeated use. On high-grip surfaces the change reduces abrupt lockup and lowers the tendency for effectiveness to drop when frictional heat accumulates in the slipper assembly.

Installation is a direct swap that uses the existing slipper hub and shaft; compatible YZ-2-series hubs require the same mounting interfaces, so no chassis modification should be necessary. Check pad alignment and clearance during initial setup and re-check after the first run when new pads seat in.

Use this set when you need smoother, more controllable slipper action for on-road 1/10 electric touring use; tune pad preload incrementally and monitor slip characteristics with your chosen spur and pinion setup.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Remove the original slipper hub and pads, fit the three-pad assembly onto the same shaft and hub interfaces, then reassemble. Follow the same torque and bearing checks as the stock setup and verify pad clearance before the first run.
No special tools are needed; basic hobby hand tools and a clean bench suffice. A caliper for checking pad clearance and a torque driver for consistent reassembly are recommended.
Expect a smoother, less abrupt engagement which can improve traction out of corners. Absolute top speed is driven by gearing and motor choice, but throttle response will feel more manageable under load.
Begin with preload similar to the stock setting, then adjust in small steps while checking for slip and heat. Let the pads seat over a couple of runs before making final preload changes.
