This aluminum main chassis is an aftermarket replacement plate made for the YR-X12 1/12 competition racing platform. Machined to the stated material spec, the plate changes overall rigidity and moves mass lower in the assembly to influence handling without altering suspension geometry or electronics.
The chassis uses a 2.0mm thick 70-75 duralumin sheet. The reduced thickness supports small-diameter tyre setups and lowers the centre of gravity, which reduces roll tendencies and helps resist sudden high-side reactions on carpeted tracks.
Precision machining preserves key structural areas while balancing roll and pitch stiffness. The result is a chassis that calms overly sharp steering on very high-grip surfaces and delivers a more predictable baseline for tyre and suspension tuning.
The part installs as a direct replacement on YR-X12 mounting points; always check fastener alignment and clearance before final torque. Use this chassis as one change in a measured setup progression rather than as a single radical modification.
As a focused tuning component, this mainplate is intended to improve balance and reduce abrupt steering behaviour on high-grip carpet layouts; pair it with suspension and tyre changes to dial in the desired handling balance.
