R12 front shock spring overview

This Yokomo R12-18FSP front shock spring fits 1/12 scale R12 front suspensions and is supplied as a single spring to help fine-tune front roll and rebound characteristics on compatible setups.

Installation is straightforward for anyone familiar with R12-style dampers: remove the shock from the car, disassemble the shock cap and shaft as required, swap the spring onto the shock cup or retainer, and reassemble using the original shock oil and spring preload settings. Keep bearings and seals clean to avoid binding during reassembly.

Tuning role: use this spring to fine-tune front-end balance and turn-in behavior. Pair with appropriate shock oil and preload changes rather than altering multiple variables at once, so you can isolate the spring's effect during setup sessions.

Packing includes

  • Front shock spring - 1 pcs
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Remove the shock from the chassis, open the shock cap, slide off the old spring if present, place the Yokomo R12-18FSP onto the shock cup or retainer, then rebuild the shock with the original oil and preload settings.
No special equipment is required beyond common shock service tools such as a shock shaft holder and the appropriate hex driver for the shock cap screws.
It is best to test with your current oil and preload, then make incremental oil or preload adjustments to complement the spring rate so you can judge the spring's true effect on turn-in and rebound.
