Long pro shock spring for precision tuning

The Yokomo YS-1560L is a long, orange-coded pro shock spring created as an RC-scale suspension accessory for model setup and fine tuning. It is offered as a single replacement spring when extra travel or a different preload range is needed inside a shock, and it is sold as an accessory for scale models rather than a complete vehicle part.

Practical role: longer shock springs alter preload range and the static ride height of the model, and they interact with damper oil and piston choice to shape transient response and corner support. When fitting a longer spring, expect a change in ride height and a requirement to re-evaluate damping to preserve control over bumps and through turns.

Installation notes: check the shock's internal travel and spring seat dimensions before fitting, remove the shock from the model, decompress the spring, swap springs while ensuring the spring seats correctly on the retainer and shock shaft, then reassemble. After installation, run low-speed checks to confirm there is no binding and set preload and damping for the new spring length.

Tuning tips: adjust chassis balance and roll stiffness in small steps, combine spring changes with damping and anti-roll tweaks, and record measured changes to ride height and steering feel rather than relying on visual estimation.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The orange finish is a quick identification colour to speed selection during tuning; it does not guarantee fitment, so always verify dimensions for your shocks before fitting.
Yes. Increasing spring length or preload normally means you should reassess damper oil and piston choice to maintain consistent handling and control.
Measure the shock's internal travel and the spring seat dimensions to confirm the longer spring will clear the caps and allow full suspension movement.
