This silicone-based shock oil is made for RC-scale shock absorbers to change damping rates without altering spring preload or ride height. As a dedicated damping fluid, it alters compression and rebound behavior inside sealed shock bodies, enabling tuners to fine-tune handling for varying track surfaces and driving styles.
Swapping the oil is straightforward: drain the old fluid, clean the shaft and internal parts, then refill to the manufacturer's recommended level using a syringe or a purpose-built filling tool. Work the shaft slowly to purge trapped air and confirm smooth, consistent travel before reattaching the shock to the chassis.
When tuning, make small viscosity changes and note handling differences; higher viscosity raises damping resistance and slows rebound, while lower viscosity reduces resistance and quickens response. Keep a setup log so you can reproduce or revert changes during practice sessions.
