Fine-tuning shim for tight clearances

This RC-scale shim measures 3.1 x 5 x 0.05mm as stated in the product name and serves as a thin spacer for precise clearance adjustments in model assemblies. Use it where accurate, repeatable increments are required to set bearing preload, align gear mesh, or correct shaft endplay without the need to machine parts.

Fitting is simple: lay the shim on the shaft or mating face before assembling the adjacent component, verify total stack thickness with a feeler gauge or caliper if available, then tighten fasteners to the specified torque while avoiding crushing the shim. Multiple shims can be combined to achieve intermediate thicknesses; keep contact faces clean to prevent trapped debris from altering clearances.

As a generic accessory, this shim suits common R/C locations such as axle interfaces, gearbox stacks, servo horn seating, and bearing endplay adjustments. Handle and store it carefully since it is a very thin, delicate spacer.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The shim is 0.05mm thick, matching the specification in the product name.
Position the shim on the mating surface, assemble the part gently, and tighten incrementally while checking that the shim is not being crushed. Use a low torque setting to start and increase to final torque while observing clearance.
Yes. Stack identical shims to add 0.05mm per shim, checking fit after each addition until the desired clearance is achieved.
