RC Damper Shock Fluid Overview

The Yokomo YOKYS900 Super Blend Shock Oil #900 is a silicone-based fluid formulated for use in RC-scale shock absorbers. It is intended as a damping medium for oil-filled dampers and is meant for model suspension tuning rather than any full-size vehicle use.

As a general-purpose shock fluid, this oil promotes steady damping by lubricating piston movement and managing fluid flow through shock ports. When used in compatible silicone-filled shocks, it helps stabilise rebound and compression to assist precise handling adjustments without altering mechanical components.

When topping up or replacing shock oil, work on a clean surface and keep the bottle and shocks free from contaminants. Fully drain old fluid, inspect shafts and seals for signs of wear, then refill to the fill level recommended by your shock builder to minimise aeration. Cycle the shock after reassembly to purge trapped air and confirm uniform damping across all shocks.

Tuning tip: choose shock fluids and piston combinations based on the handling characteristics you want. Lighter oils reduce damping and increase responsiveness, while heavier oils increase damping to slow movements and stabilise the model. Make incremental changes and record results for repeatable setups.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
This product works in silicone-oil filled RC shock absorbers that accept silicone fluids, provided you select a viscosity that matches your tuning goals.
Compress the shock repeatedly while keeping the piston vertical to purge air, then top up to the correct level and check damping consistency before reinstalling.
Keep the bottle sealed, store at stable room temperature, and avoid contamination from dirt or moisture. Close the cap tightly after each use.
