High-viscosity silicone oil for R/C dampers

Yokomo YOKYS600 is a silicone-based shock fluid supplied as a single-grade #600 product. It is offered as an accessory for scale R/C cars to allow changes in damping behavior without replacing mechanical components.

Handling effect: the oil alters rebound and compression flow inside oil-filled shocks, which influences traction, body movement and responsiveness when cornering or landing. The #600 grade produces firmer damping than lighter options, helping to tame oscillation on smooth or higher-speed tracks.

Service guidance: work on a clean bench, remove pistons and shafts, drain the old fluid, refill the shock body and piston with the new oil, then reassemble and slowly cycle the shaft to bleed air. Perform a short test run and refine settings by changing oil grade or piston shims rather than by cutting shock length.
