YOKYS1000 Overview

The Yokomo YOKYS1000 Super Blend Shock Oil #1000 is a silicone-based fluid engineered for precise suspension tuning in 1/10 scale RC vehicles. It is made for oil-filled shocks where careful control of compression and rebound is needed to balance traction with responsiveness across touring and buggy layouts.

As a tuning consumable, changing viscosity alters how quickly shocks compress and return; higher values raise damping resistance while lower values let the shock react faster. Choose this oil when you want increased mid-speed and high-speed damping without swapping internal shock parts.

  • Compatibility: Suits most oil-filled shocks on 1/10 scale electric and nitro touring cars, buggies, and short course models.
  • Installation: Remove old oil, clean the shock internals, refill to the recommended level, then reassemble and pump the shock to expel trapped air before testing.
  • Tuning tips: Combine viscosity changes with spring rate and piston selection, make small incremental adjustments, and test at consistent temperatures for reliable comparisons.
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
With 1000cSt you get stronger damping across compression and rebound compared to 500cSt, which tends to improve high-speed stability but can reduce sensitivity to small bumps.
You can mix silicone-based oils, but differences in additives and thermal characteristics will change feel. Always test mixed fluids off the race setup before relying on them in competition.
After refilling, invert and gently compress the shock several times while keeping the piston rod aligned; repeat until bubbles stop appearing, then top up and seal.
