Overview of 48-pitch spur gear

This is an RC-scale spur gear designed for 48 pitch gear trains, offered as a direct replacement for standard 48-pitch drivetrains. It is intended for use inside model gearboxes and drivetrain assemblies when adjusting gear ratios or renewing worn components in electric or nitro setups.

When installing the spur gear, make sure the pinion (motor gear) is the matching 48 pitch to ensure correct meshing. Proper mesh technique is important: begin with a small nominal backlash, rotate the drivetrain by hand to confirm smooth engagement, then secure the motor and gearbox. Do not force parts into mesh, and re-check mesh after a few runs as seating can change slightly.

For tuning, altering the spur tooth count changes the overall gear ratio and modifies acceleration and top speed at the model level. Use this gear as part of measured ratio changes and adjust motor and ESC settings to evaluate the full system response.
