This 26-tooth pinion is a precision replacement for R/C motor drivetrains and is intended for scale model use only. Its primary function is simple: swap tooth counts to adjust final drive, tune acceleration against top speed, and better match motor behavior to your spur gear.
Ensure shaft diameter and gear pitch match before fitting. Proper mesh is critical—adjust so teeth engage cleanly without binding, tighten the set screw, and then re-check mesh while the drivetrain is rotated. A small gap at rest that closes under throttle is usually preferable to a tight, binding mesh.
Inspect the teeth regularly for wear, burrs, or missing material and replace the pinion if any damage appears. Apply a light gear-specific lubricant only when it is compatible with the spur material, and keep the gears free of grit to extend service life.
A 26T pinion is commonly used as a middle-option when dialing in gear ratios during tuning runs; pair it with your existing spur gear to find the right compromise between acceleration and top speed while watching motor temperature and ESC load.
