Compact 48P 29-Tooth Pinion

This compact, RC-scale precision pinion is intended for 48 pitch gear trains. The YOKPG4829 is manufactured for consistent tooth form and elevated material hardness so it preserves mesh stability under typical electric model loads.

Intended use: install the pinion on your motor shaft to change gear ratio, influence acceleration and top speed, and refine mesh when optimising drivetrain efficiency. It is an aftermarket component intended to replace worn or lower-hardness pinions.

Installation notes: mount on a clean motor shaft, ensure the set screw seats on a flat if present, and use correct shimming to set backlash. Verify mesh across a few low-throttle cycles with servos and ESC before final tightening. A short run-in under light load helps confirm stable engagement.

Durability and tuning guidance: the ultra-hard finish reduces wear compared with softer pinions but requires accurate alignment with the spur gear to avoid premature tooth damage. When changing tooth count to alter ratio, re-check mesh and motor timing if applicable.

Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
This item is a 48 pitch pinion with 29 teeth, as shown in the model designation YOKPG4829.
Yes. It is designed for 48 pitch spur gears; match tooth profile and pitch when selecting the spur.
Clean the motor shaft, place the pinion, set proper shim for backlash, tighten the set screw on the shaft flat if present, and test at low throttle to confirm mesh.
