Fine-Tune Your Differential

This Yokomo differential grease is formulated for RC-scale differentials and associated gearbox components. It acts as a tuning medium to alter diff engagement and internal damping without changing internal geometry.

Application is straightforward and conservative: spread a thin, even coating on spider gears and bevel contact faces, and refresh small lubricant films on bearings or bushings where needed. Do not overfill the housing to avoid excess drag; a modest, evenly distributed amount yields the intended change in diff feel.

Used as a tuning aid, this grease helps control how rapidly the differential locks under load, influencing traction transfer and cornering balance. Make changes gradually: run on-track tests after each slight addition to evaluate effects on traction and steering feedback.

Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. What amount of grease should I put inside the diff?

Apply a light, even film to gears and contact points rather than filling the case. Start small, test on the track, and add tiny increments until you reach the desired lock and handling.

Is this grease appropriate for both metal and plastic gears?

Yes. The formula works with common metal and plastic gear sets when used conservatively; excess lubricant can increase drag, so keep layers thin.
