Yokomo Front Spring Details

Designed as a direct replacement for front shock assemblies, the Yokomo YOKBMS1275 (SS1275) steel spring restores and controls suspension movement. It allows racers and hobbyists to set preload and pair the spring with different dampers to dial front-end handling.

Install notes: slide the spring over the shock shaft and seat it against the retainer and spring cup according to your shock design, confirm free piston movement and that the spring is concentric on the shaft, and check preload and travel before running. No special tools are required beyond common shock assembly tools and a hex driver for associated hardware.

Tuning role: the SS1275 alters effective front spring rate and preload, letting you influence understeer or oversteer when used with damper valving, ride height, and sway bar choices. Replace springs in matched sets to preserve symmetrical response across the front axle.
