This rear shock spring is intended for R/C suspension use and supplied as a spare for rear shock assemblies. It is an RC-scale accessory designed to fit typical hobby car shock towers and cartridges when the outer diameter and spring seat layout match.
The spring functions as a coil to influence rebound, compression and squat at the rear of the model; changing spring rate or preload will affect ride height, midstroke support and resistance to bottoming. Use this as part of a wider tuning approach rather than a single cure-all for handling.
Fitting follows standard rear spring procedure: remove the shock from the car, ease off preload, slide the spring onto the shaft and set the retainers to the desired preload. Inspect the shock shaft and eyelets for damage before reassembly, and verify free stroke so the shock does not bind.
Tuning tips: alter preload to change ride height and initial stiffness, swap springs of different rates to suit surface and driving style, and coordinate spring changes with damper oil and piston choices for consistent behaviour through the travel.
