RP Ultra Shock Oil - Product Summary

The Yokomo RP-113425 RP Ultra Shock Oil #42.5 is a silicone fluid formulated for use in RC shock absorbers and dampers. Supplied in a 40cc bottle and identified by a blue tint, this mid-range viscosity option supports incremental tuning steps within the RP Ultra line.

Role in setup: This silicone oil alters the internal flow of shock assemblies to change compression and rebound characteristics. Using a different viscosity lets you tune handling without changing springs or pistons.

Installation and handling: Service shocks by following your shock maker’s disassembly procedure, drain the old oil, refill with the chosen viscosity, and bleed trapped air before reassembling. Keep the bottle sealed when not in use and avoid contaminating the fluid to maintain consistent damping.

Tuning notes: Choose RP Ultra Shock Oil #42.5 when you need a neutral, mid-level damping response. Make small steps between adjacent viscosities and record each change, since springs, piston configurations, and track surface also influence shock behavior.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The oil is supplied in a 40cc bottle and the #42.5 formulation is blue to help quick visual selection during setup.
A higher viscosity increases resistance and slows shock movement, yielding firmer damping. Lower viscosities flow faster for a softer response; adjust one step at a time to evaluate handling differences.
Store the bottle capped in a cool, clean place and avoid introducing dirt or grease. Do not mix oils unintentionally; only blend viscosities if you are testing a deliberate tuning change.
