On track the oil changes damping speed and feel: higher viscosity increases resistance for slower compression and rebound, while lower viscosity reduces resistance for quicker movement. Choosing a mid-range grade like #25 helps balance stability with responsiveness, and the color coding speeds bottle swaps during setup sessions.
