Aluminum front steering block for RD/SD/MD drift platforms

This aluminum front steering block is an RC-scale upgrade for Yokomo RD/SD/MD series drift cars. The assembly separates the axle shaft, steering block, and upper holder into individual pieces so you can adjust settings piece by piece instead of swapping a single molded unit.

The block accepts stacked shims to alter trail and kingpin angle, allowing precise changes to alignment geometry for different track surfaces. Compared to a resin axle, the hard-anodized aluminum component increases front-end rigidity, giving crisper steering response and clearer front tyre tracing during drift lines.

It excels on tight, precision-demanding surfaces such as P tiles and coloured concrete, and it is intended for hobby use only on RC drift circuits.

Fit the separate axle, steering block, and upper holder and iterate shim stacks until you find a repeatable alignment setup for your track; the aluminum kit favors sharper steering feedback compared with standard resin parts.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Installation replaces the stock front block by removing the axle shaft and replacing it with the RD-415SAP components. Use the chassis' existing bolts and bearings and follow the chassis manual for retention hardware locations.
Most builds reuse the chassis' original bearings and fasteners. Inspect retained hardware for wear and replace any worn bolts or bearings as needed to ensure correct preload and alignment.
Begin with thin stacked shims under the axle to tighten kingpin angle, then test small incremental changes. A conservative approach—one shim step at a time—helps isolate effects on tyre trace and entry behavior.
Increased rigidity can change how the tyre tracks; on abrasive tile surfaces you may notice different wear patterns. Fine-tune alignment and pressure to manage tyre life while keeping desired trace quality.
The part is intended for hobby drift circuits and provides tighter steering feedback, but check event rules for allowed modifications before using it in formal competition.
