Installation-Friendly 48P 72T Slipper Spur

The SG-4872S is a 48-pitch, 72-tooth spur gear designed for RC use with slipper-equipped D-MAX series dual-clutch drivetrains. It functions as a direct replacement or an upgrade inside the slipper assembly to change final drive ratio and engagement without altering pinion size.

Design emphasis is on consistent meshing and repeatable engagement to aid tuning tyre bite and slipper slip. When fitting this spur, check gear mesh against the motor pinion, confirm slipper preload settings, and apply appropriate thread locking to mounting hardware where needed. The part is intended for model-level drivetrain tuning and routine maintenance, not full vehicle systems.

Installation notes: remove the slipper assembly cover, align the spur spline with the shaft, set initial mesh using a thin feeler or paper method, and reassemble while checking for smooth rotation and steady slipper action under power.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Ensure the spline matches your slipper shaft, remove the cover, slide the spur into place, set the mesh with a feeler, and resecure the assembly. Verify smooth rotation before using full power.
Common RC tools suffice: hex drivers, pliers, and a thin feeler or paper for mesh. A small amount of thread locking compound is recommended for mounting screws.
Moving to a larger 72-tooth spur reduces top speed while boosting acceleration and increasing slipper engagement sensitivity, useful for traction tuning and gearing balance.
