YZ-4 Front Drive Belt Overview

This front belt is built specifically for the YZ-4 range and is supplied as a direct-fit replacement for the front belt-drive assembly. The Z4-291-6 identifies the 97-tooth profile with a 6mm running width to restore correct routing and tooth engagement on YZ-4 front pulleys.

Installation overview: remove the old belt from the front pulley routing, inspect pulley alignment and sheath routing, then fit the Z4-291-6 keeping tension even across the span. After fitting, rotate the drivetrain by hand to check for smooth engagement and uniform tooth tracking before any powered runs.

Tuning role: belt tooth count and width influence belt stiffness, backlash tolerance, and tension settings on a belt-driven 4WD RC platform. Use the correct 97T, 6mm belt to preserve designed tension characteristics and consistent steering response during setup changes.

Compatibility

  • YZ-4
  • B-YZ4

The Z4-291-6 is specified as a 97-tooth front belt with a 6mm running width; fit it where a 97T, 6mm belt is required for YZ-4 front routing.
You do not have to replace pulleys if they are undamaged; inspect alignment and tooth wear and correct pulleys or spacers only if misalignment or wear is present.
Yes. Wider or narrower belts alter stiffness and permissible tension, which can affect backlash and steering feedback; using the factory 6mm width helps retain the intended response.
