YOKY4S8 cap balls for YD-4 SLF shocks

The Yokomo YOKY4S8 shock cap ball set provides replacement cap balls made for SLF big-bore dampers used with the YD-4 platform. Supplied as a 4pcs kit, these components act as the cap ball interface inside the shock cap, helping preserve piston alignment and steady shock behaviour on the track.

This is an RC-scale replacement part for radio-controlled models only; it is not suitable for full-size vehicles. Confirm YD-4 compatibility before purchase to guarantee correct fit with your damper top components.

Service notes: if you are comfortable disassembling oil-filled shocks the swap is straightforward. Remove the shock cap, check the cap ball for wear, and fit the new item ensuring it rotates freely and seats securely. Use common shock tools and avoid contaminating damper oil and seals during the job.

Tuning impact: though small, the cap ball affects seal alignment and piston motion in big-bore SLF shocks. Replacing worn cap balls helps retain consistent damping, reduces cap-end play, and supports repeatable setup changes when altering oil weight, pistons, or spring preload.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The package contains four cap balls, enough to service two shocks or keep as spares for future maintenance.
Yes, replacing worn cap balls often reduces play at the cap interface and improves the perceived firmness and consistency of the damper top.
No special lubricants are required; just keep the work area clean and avoid contaminating the shock oil or seals during installation.
