This 1/12 scale assembly kit recreates the Yamaha YZR-M1 50th Anniversary U.S. Inter-Coloring Edition 46, built as a highly detailed display model aimed at experienced builders.
The roadgoing Yamaha YZR-M1 is a factory racing machine developed for four-stroke competition in the early 2000s. By 2005 the bike used a 990cc inline-four four-stroke engine, with revisions to fuel tank position and rear suspension mounting to improve mass centralization. The 2005 specification also saw refinements to brakes and electronic controls. The U.S. Inter-Coloring livery recalls earlier Yamaha race color schemes and was applied to team machines during the 2005 U.S. Grand Prix.
As a kit, this set represents the 2005 YZR-M1 specification finished in the U.S. Inter-Coloring yellow and black. The completed model measures 172mm long and 56mm wide. Panels are designed to be removable after build to expose internal detail. The compact inline-four engine, twin-tube delta frame and rear suspension layout are reproduced, and the kit includes synthetic rubber tires and Cartograf decals for the livery.
A faithful scale representation of the 2005 YZR-M1 U.S. Inter-Coloring scheme, suited to modellers seeking a display-quality motorcycle with removable bodywork and accurate mechanical detail.
