Race-Tuned XRAY XT8 Chassis for Stable Vintage Handling

The XRAY 351120 XT8 chassis is machined from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum and hardcoated for long service life. The 3mm plate is CNC cut to remove material in low-stress zones, producing a stiff but light base that moves mass lower beneath the engine, fuel tank, and diffs to lower the centre of gravity and sharpen handling.

Weight Layout and Handling Balance

This chassis places heavy parts close to the centreline for even left-right balance, a key factor in consistent lap times and controlled cornering. Countersunk fasteners leave the underside smooth, preventing snagging and preserving clean airflow under the car.

Hardcoating Process and Production Notes

XRAY applies hardcoating in a robotic facility to ensure a uniform finish that resists wear. Small edge cracks can appear around cutouts due to material stress during coating; these are cosmetic and do not affect structural integrity or on-track performance.

Specifications

  • Material: Swiss 7075 T6 Aluminum
  • Thickness: 3mm
  • Coating: Hardcoated
  • Compatibility: XRAY XT8 Series

A sensible upgrade for vintage XT series cars, this chassis improves balance and stability without adding needless weight.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Expect crisper mid-corner balance and more predictable weight transfer thanks to the lower centre of gravity and centralised component layout.
The hardcoat improves surface resistance to abrasion and minor impacts, though heavy contact can still mark the finish over time.
No. Small cracks around openings are a normal result of the coating process and do not reduce the chassis strength or reliability.
