Dial in Asphalt Handling with XRAY Progressive ULP Shocks

The XRAY 308029 ULP Progressive Aluminum Shock Set is built to refine a touring car's behaviour on asphalt circuits. Its progressive damping concept helps deliver more predictable traction and sharper steering for drivers focused on setup adjustments.

How the Progressive Damping Works

Instead of a conventional valve, the XRAY ULP design uses an insert with three triangular cuts that pairs with pistons that do not have holes. That geometry produces a damping curve that starts softer and becomes firmer as the piston moves, providing a controllable transition that reacts to varying loads and suspension travel.

High Quality Materials and Fit

Inserts are CNC-machined from Swiss 7075 T6 aluminum for strength and lightness, then finished with a black coating for wear resistance. Pistons are carefully moulded and ground to ensure roundness and consistent operation, so the shocks stay repeatable over many runs.

Recommended Use and Setup Notes

These shocks are intended for asphalt use and can be fitted to both front and rear positions. They require pistons without holes to function as designed and use the same shock oil types you would run in standard dampers, making them simple to integrate into existing setups.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
They are optimised for smooth asphalt; on very bumpy surfaces you may lose some benefit as the progressive action is tuned for paved grip and stability.
Use pistons without holes so the insert can control flow as intended. Using holed pistons will prevent the progressive characteristic from working properly.
No special oil is required; standard shock oils for your touring car can be used. Adjust oil weight as you normally would to tune damping speed.
