Fine Tuning for XRAY X4 Handling

The XRAY 301071 1.6mm Graphite Upper Deck is a targeted upgrade for racers wanting to adjust the XRAY X4's balance across different grip situations. Machined from quality 1.6mm graphite, it pairs well with an aluminum chassis in modified classes and focuses on improving traction while keeping responsive steering.

Adjustable Flex Positions

The upper deck supports four distinct flex configurations so drivers can choose the feel that matches the track:

  • Soft Setting: Uses no bushing or bearing to maximize flex and front-end steering, with reduced on-power stability.
  • Soft-Medium Setting: Fits a ball bearing to slightly tame steering and add stability.
  • Medium Setting: Employs a special M3x5.5mm screw behind the layshaft to balance steering and traction.
  • Stiff Setting: Installs special screws behind and in front of the layshaft to boost stability while preserving steering response.

Because the plate is 1.6mm thick, many racers favour the stiff setting for extra durability during longer runs.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some XRAY items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
This 1.6mm deck works best on low to medium grip surfaces where extra traction and controlled steering are needed, particularly when used with an aluminum chassis.
Try the softer flex positions to increase steering bite through slow corners, then test soft-medium to regain some on-power stability if you lose traction exiting turns.
The stiff setting adds support and reduces flex-related wear, making it a good choice for longer events or rougher track surfaces where chassis stress is higher.
