Aluminium servo saver and link for WR-02 steering

This aluminium servo saver and matching tie rod set is an aftermarket upgrade made for scale RC use on the Wild Willy 2 WR-02 platform. The kit is focused on shielding the servo from impact shock while giving a firmer, more consistent steering feel during aggressive driving or setup changes.

By replacing stock plastic components with aluminium parts the assembly reduces flex and wear under load. That increased stiffness helps maintain servo centring and delivers a more predictable steering response when you adjust trim or steering endpoints. The 25T note denotes the compatible servo spline for higher torque servo horns.

Fitting follows standard WR-02 steering link procedures: remove the original saver and rod, mount the aluminium saver onto the servo horn spline, then attach the tie rod between the saver arm and steering knuckle. Verify preload and free movement through the steering arc before final tightening to prevent binding.

For tuning work the aluminium saver pairs well with a hi-torque servo or when you want crisper steering feedback for small trim adjustments. The rigid link reduces play, but check chassis and knuckle clearances to avoid adding excessive stiffness to the steering system.

Yes. The saver uses the 25T spline interface so it fits servos with matching 25T horns or with a 25T adapter installed.
In most cases the aluminium tie rod uses the stock WR-02 linkage hardware. Inspect ball joints for play and replace only if worn to maintain correct steering geometry.
The aluminium saver helps absorb sudden inputs and reduces flex that can harm centring, but it does not guarantee protection from severe impacts. Combine it with sensible servo mounting and travel limits for best results.
