Center gearbox lower protector

This stainless steel lower guard is an aftermarket accessory crafted for the TRX4 platform to protect the center gearbox from rocks, compacted sand and routine trail abrasion. The stainless construction helps resist corrosion from moisture and airborne grit while the curved profile is designed to deflect impacts away from the gearbox housing.

Service-friendly features include alignment holes that match the upper main shaft screw pattern so the main shaft can be accessed without removing the plate. The low-profile, contoured mounting shape reduces snag points while keeping clearance for driveshafts and other drivetrain parts.

Included hardware: one stainless steel flat head screw 3x14, 1pcs. This part is intended for hobbyists experienced with TRX4 teardown and is supplied as an aftermarket protection upgrade rather than a performance modification.

This item is compatible with

  • TRAXXAS TRX4 Defender Trail Crawler
It is made for the TRX4 platform; check the mounting points on your specific TRX4 variant before fitting to confirm clearance and hole alignment.
Yes, the protector has positioning holes aligned to the upper main shaft screws so basic shaft access and installation can be done without removing the plate.
Rinse off trapped sand after runs and inspect the mounting screw occasionally; stainless steel resists corrosion but will benefit from simple cleaning after heavy mud or salty conditions.
