This 1:72 scale plastic model represents the Japanese Type 74 main battle tank, modelled as a compact tracked vehicle intended for display and small-scale modelling.
The Type 74 served as Japan's second postwar main battle tank. Development began in the mid 1960s to replace earlier designs; prototypes and trials continued through the late 1960s, with the final design approved in 1974. Production ran from 1975 into 1990, with roughly 870 units completed, during which time it was the Japan Self-Defense Forces' primary domestic tank.
The kit reproduces the external form at 1:72 scale and is supplied as injection-moulded sprues. Builders should follow standard small-scale armour modelling techniques such as careful seam removal and ensuring accurate hull-to-turret fit. Interior detail is not claimed beyond external fittings; consult reference photos for paint and finishing. Decals provide two unit marking options as listed below.
A compact external-scale representation of the Type 74 suitable for small dioramas or shelf display, offering a clear parts count and basic marking choices for finish-focused builders.
