This 1:700 scale plastic kit portrays the US Navy destroyer USS The Sullivans (DD-537), designed as a display-focused replica of a World War II Fletcher-class destroyer.

The real USS The Sullivans (DD-537) was launched in April 1943 and commissioned in September 1943. Renamed in February 1943 to honour five brothers lost aboard the cruiser Juneau, she served across the Pacific performing plane guard, shore bombardment and radar picket duties, including operations around Okinawa. After World War II she was decommissioned, later returned to service for the Korean War and was finally retired in 1965, earning nine World War II battle stars and two Korean War stars.

As a scale representation, the kit reproduces the ship profile and deck arrangement at 1:700 scale. The parts include separate upper and lower hull components and allow builders to present the model as either a full-hull or waterline display.
