This shaft core kit is a direct replacement designed for the TRAXXAS XRT 8S platform and compatible GPM shock assemblies. The main shaft is made from 4140 medium carbon steel with specified 7075 aluminum parts, and the shaft diameter increases from 5.0mm to 7.0mm to resist bending and retain fitment with standard shock bodies.

These cores suit either front or rear damper positions and work with both GPM and original factory shock absorbers listed for the model. The design replaces an O-ring with an oil seal to smooth piston movement and improve oil retention under load.

When fitting the new shaft core, check piston and seal alignment, confirm the shaft slides freely in the shock body before final assembly, and keep oil weight and valving matched to your tuning. The upgrade improves straightness and service life rather than changing damping tune.
