Front diff pinion overview

This is a scaled front differential pinion designed for the TRAXXAS UNLIMITED DESERT RACER platform, model UDR1200SF/G2. The part replaces the stock front pinion and is fitted inside the front gearbox to restore or refine front differential operation.

Material and role: manufactured from hardened steel #45 for greater wear resistance versus common stock alloys, the smaller running clearance helps the mating gears mesh more consistently and smooths torque transfer through the front differential.

Installation notes: the pinion locates inside the front gearbox and requires standard gearbox access to fit. Disassemble the front gearbox, install the pinion, then set gear alignment and mesh before reassembly. Supplied as a single replacement pinion for routine service or light tuning of the front differential.
