This 2-piece RC-scale portal drive output spindle gear is made for the TRAXXAS TRX4 Trail Crawler platform. The 23T tooth count matches common pinion and spur ratios and is intended to pass rotation from the portal drive assembly to the wheels with minimal energy loss.
Fabricated from hardened steel #45 with a nutrified and hardening process, the component is built to resist wear in low-speed, high-load crawling situations. The spindle gear profile is machined to reduce backlash and tighten the gear gap so torque transfer across both portal outputs stays predictable on technical terrain.
Before fitting into a TRX4 portal housing, confirm the spindle seats correctly and check tooth engagement with the mating gear. Correct shim spacing and torqueing of the output spindle fasteners are important to preserve the reduced gear gap and avoid accelerated wear.
This GPM spindle gear is supplied as an aftermarket replacement or hop-up to restore or sharpen torque transfer behaviour in TRX4 portal drives, particularly useful for trail crawling where a reduced gear gap improves consistency.
