Brass axle housing caps

This aftermarket brass front and rear gearbox cover has been produced for the TRAXXAS TRX4 Trail Crawler platform. It is an RC-scale protection upgrade for the axle housing, intended to give extra structural support and better differential stability when tackling technical trails.

Design highlights include an integrated oil filler hole for faster field maintenance, CNC-grade tolerances to aid accurate differential alignment, and a measured weight of 76g that provides predictable mass to the axle assembly. The kit also includes stainless steel cap head screws 2.5x14, 4pcs for mounting.

Installation and tuning notes: these covers replace the stock axle housing caps on compatible TRX4 axle cases and serve as a rigid anchor to limit deformation under load, which helps preserve gear mesh and differential operation during slow-speed crawling and rockwork. This component is intended for 1:10 RC scale use only.

Parts are very nice. Fit very well. Easy to install. But screws are sometimes to short. And piece was not drilled and tapped deep enough. But overall excellent workmanship. Your shipping leaves a lot to be desired. And it seems tha you got a little confus

Does this replace the stock TRX4 axle caps?

Yes, the covers are made to replace the stock axle housing caps on compatible TRX4 axle cases; check your axle case profile against the original housing before fitting.

How do I use the oil filler hole?

The integrated filler hole allows topping up or changing differential oil without removing the whole cap. Use a small syringe or dropper to add fluid through the port, then reseal as needed.

Will the extra weight change handling?

At about 76g per cover set, the added mass shifts axle behaviour slightly towards improved traction at low speed; this can be useful for fine-tuning crawl balance but may alter acceleration response.

What fasteners are supplied?

The package supplies stainless steel cap head screws sized 2.5x14, 4pcs, for mounting the covers to the axle housing as described in the kit notes.
