This 16-piece oil-filled damper kit is an aftermarket suspension upgrade for the TRAXXAS 4WD GT4 TEC 2.0 platform, sold under model GT5053FR. The set aims to increase chassis stability by lowering ride height and stiffening key components while keeping routine service and tuning simple for track and street-style touring cars.

The dampers feature 6061 T6 aluminium bodies to reduce flex, paired with a higher-viscosity damping fluid to refine rebound control. Coil springs use a thicker wire profile to resist deformation during aggressive driving, and the shafts are reinforced to reduce bending under load. Front units measure 53mm and rear units 50mm, shortening overall assembly length from earlier 55mm references to lower the centre of gravity for improved balance.

Fitting follows standard oil-shock practice: mount to existing shock towers and lower suspension mounts on GT4-style touring chassis, using the supplied hardware for secure installation. Small alloy collars supplied can be fitted at the upper mounting hole to tweak camber and body tilt without changing spring preload, enabling quick balance adjustments between front and rear grip.
