TRAXXAS 1/5 X-MAXX Piggyback Aluminium Adjustable Spring Shocks TXM12170 by GPM  [TXM12170]

Made as a scale upgrade for TRAXXAS 1/5 X-MAXX trucks, these aluminium spring shocks use an L-shaped piggyback reservoir to increase working oil volume and help maintain consistent damping. The seal arrangement is designed to limit leaks and keep shock action steady during long runs.

The shock shafts are a beefy 7mm stainless steel to reduce flex where the piston runs, and the kit supplies two coil spring options to tune ride height and initial rate: 2.6mm (green) and 2.8mm (orange). Small parts are precision made and the units are manually assembled to ensure proper fit and finish for aftermarket suspension upgrades.

From a tuning perspective the main adjustments come from three areas: oil capacity via the piggyback, shaft rigidity from the 7mm stainless shafts, and spring rate using the supplied dual springs. Those changes let you dial in responsiveness, body roll control, and compression behavior on large-scale X-MAXX platforms listed below.
