This clamp-type wheel hub is a direct aluminium alternative to the factory plastic hub used on select TAMIYA 1/10 kits, offering a machined 6061 construction that secures the wheel axle with a slotted clamp and cap screw. The hub slit closes as the cap screw is tightened, clamping the axle and helping prevent the 2 x 10mm stainless steel shaft from sliding out during tyre or wheel removal.

Being machined from 6061 aluminium, the hub adds mounting stiffness and helps keep wheel alignment stable under load, which makes small setup changes more consistent. The set ships with Grade 12.9 cap head screws and the supplied 2 x 10 steel pins to match the clamp retention method of the original hubs.

How does the clamp mechanism hold the axle in place?

When the cap screw is tightened the slit in the hub narrows and grips around the axle, while the included 2 x 10mm steel pin sits in the locating hole to stop the axle from moving or dropping out during wheel removal.

Will this fit my stock TAMIYA XV-02 or BBX BB-01 axle?

This hub is produced to match the clamp retention geometry used on the listed TAMIYA XV-02 PRO and BBX BB-01 chassis; check that your axle diameter and pin size match the original parts before fitting.

What hardware is included and any installation tips?

The kit includes Grade 12.9 cap head screws and 2 x 10 steel pins. Use moderate torque on the cap screws and verify the pin is seated correctly; a small amount of threadlocker can be used if you want extra security.
