This alloy main shaft is a scale replacement part intended for Tamiya TT01 chassis builds and repairs. It serves as the direct-drive shaft in the drivetrain and is designed to reduce flex and play compared with standard stock shafts.
Installation requires basic disassembly of the drivetrain to remove the original main shaft and to inspect nearby bearings and gears for wear. Verify spline alignment and bearing seating before reassembly and use thread locker and correct torque settings on retained fasteners as specified in the TT01 manual; the shaft uses the factory mounting points and does not alter mounting geometry.
From a tuning perspective, fitting an alloy main shaft can change drivetrain stiffness and the mechanical feedback felt at the motor and spur mesh. Decide on a swap after checking for visible play or flex in the stock shaft and confirm results with measured test runs under different loads.
