Adjustable universal shaft for tractor trucks

This JAZRIDER TTT-125158-BK drive shaft is an RC-scale replacement made for TAMIYA tractor truck kits that require a 125mm-158mm length. Built from black steel as a universal joint assembly, it transfers torque from gearbox outputs to axle inputs while allowing length adjustment to suit different chassis layouts.

Installation is straightforward for experienced builders: set the shaft to the required centre-to-centre length within the 125mm-158mm range, align splines and yokes with mating parts, and confirm the joint articulates freely through suspension travel. Verify engagement and minimal play after fitting, and shorten in small increments rather than big cuts to avoid misalignment.

For tuning and maintenance, focus on drivetrain alignment and wear control. A correctly sized shaft reduces binding and uneven loading on gears and bearings. Inspect universal joints and coupling points regularly for side play or surface wear, and replace when play becomes noticeable to preserve drivetrain efficiency during running.

Measure the centre-to-centre distance between the gearbox output and axle input on your TAMIYA tractor truck; if it falls within 125mm-158mm this shaft is suitable.
Adjust the shaft in small steps, check spline engagement and free articulation through full suspension travel, then recheck coupling tightness after a short test run.
Look for side-to-side play at the joint, rough rotation, or visible fretting on coupling surfaces; replace the shaft when play becomes noticeable to avoid gearbox or bearing damage.
