Aluminium centre ball differential for M04M

This aluminium ball differential is an aftermarket upgrade built to fit the Tamiya M04M differential location and compatible Tamiya kits using the same layout. It replaces the stock plastic unit with a metal housing and a serviceable ball mechanism to provide more predictable drivetrain behaviour when you tune handling.

Offered as a hop-up replacement rather than a full gearbox, the unit lets builders adjust centre traction and torque transfer so handling balance can be refined without changing suspension geometry or motor gearing.

Installation and tuning notes:

• Remove the factory differential from the M04M housing following your usual disassembly routine and inspect mating faces for wear before fitting the aluminium unit.
• Apply the recommended grease and use shims to set preload for the desired rotational feel, then verify the differential spins smoothly by hand prior to final assembly.
• Perform bench checks and short low-speed runs to confirm drivetrain smoothness and to fine-tune handling after installation.
