This machined aluminium high-torque servo saver is made for the TAMIYA GF01 (GF-01) chassis and sold as model GF024STM. The design pairs a rigid aluminium body with a hardened steel tie rod to reduce deflection while providing a sacrificial slip under heavy loads, keeping the servo safe during hard cornering.
It functions as a mechanical buffer between the servo output spline and the steering linkage, allowing controlled movement when the steering is overloaded while preserving fine centring for accurate control. The 24T interface matches servos that use 24-tooth output splines common to GF-01 compatible setups.
Fitting tips: mount the saver onto the servo spline and connect the tie rod to the steering arm with no binding, confirm full travel at the transmitter, and adjust engagement to find the best compromise between protection and steering precision. Regularly check fasteners and the tie rod for wear to keep steering feel consistent.
