This aluminum front upright fits the TAMIYA DT-03 RC chassis and is identified as model JR-DT306-BK. As a hop-up replacement for the stock plastic part, it raises front-end stiffness and sharpens steering response while keeping the original suspension geometry intact.
The upright functions as the steering knuckle and wheel hub mount, locating the wheel hex and connecting to the steering linkage and lower suspension parts. Replacing plastic with aluminum at these mount points increases rigidity and can deliver a more direct steering feel on paved surfaces and controlled circuits.
Installation is straightforward for builders experienced with DT-03 components: remove the factory uprights, transfer wheel hexes and bearings, and secure the JR-DT306-BK uprights using the original mounting points and screws. After fitting, check steering ball link geometry and wheel clearance, and confirm the servo horn and tie-rod travel operate without binding.
For tuning, this part is primarily a durability and feedback upgrade: it resists deformation better than plastic, helping to keep toe and camber stable under load. It does not alter the base suspension geometry, so shocks and ride-height adjustments remain the main handling tools.
