This pair (2 pcs) of steel drive shafts is engineered as a direct metal replacement for the stock plastic shafts used in Tamiya DT02, DT03, and TT02B drivetrains. Intended for scale RC on-road and touring applications, the shafts provide an easy swap when a tougher metal component is needed to resist wear in regular electric setups.
Compatibility is specific: these shafts are for use with the Tamiya plastic cup joint only and are not compatible with Tamiya 53790. During fitting, verify cup engagement and drivetrain alignment, confirm the shaft clears the gearbox and bearings, and check for smooth rotation before final assembly. As a tuning upgrade they reduce deformation under load versus OEM plastic parts, helping to keep spur and pinion engagement consistent under harder driving.
