Rear CVD replacement for Tamiya DT platforms

This rear constant velocity drive shaft is a direct replacement designed for Tamiya DT02, DT03 and TT02B chassis. The driven half-shafts are made from alloy steel #45 and the item is supplied as 1 pr to swap into the rear drivetrain when original parts wear out.

Fitment targets the listed chassis; this unit does NOT fit Tamiya 58374. It is produced for hobby use to restore drivetrain geometry, reduce play at the rear diff output, and provide a durable upgrade over worn plastic or lower-grade metal drives.

Installation follows typical rear CVD swap routine: remove rear hubs and driveline parts to access the shaft ends, confirm set-screw and hex seating, and check axle alignment through suspension droop to avoid binding. Minor set-screw trimming or a dab of low-strength thread-lock on steel fasteners may be used during reassembly as needed.

Compatible Models

  • Tamiya DT02
  • Tamiya DT03
  • Tamiya TT02B

Match replacement shafts to the chassis code to ensure correct spline count and length, and inspect related bearings and hub hardware while performing the swap.

I bought several parts off you guys for a few different Tamiya chassis. Love the quality of your products. Can I ask why you do not have any parts for the Tamiya CR-01 chassis?

Thank you very much, all arrived safely. Thank you very much for this first transaction from Japan to my beautiful France. Good luck and thank you again from the bottom of my heart. See you next time and good luck in the land of the rising sun. ++++
The package contains one pair of rear CVD shafts intended to replace the original rear driveline components on compatible chassis.
They are specified for TT02B, DT02 and DT03 but you should verify hub and diff output fit before final installation to confirm spline and length compatibility.
No specialised tools are required beyond standard hex drivers and pliers for disassembly and reassembly; a small bench vise helps hold parts while seating set-screws.
The shafts mainly restore drivetrain stiffness and reduce slop; any handling change will depend on the wider setup including suspension, tyres and gearing.
