CW-01 front lower arm replacement

This aluminium front lower arm is made to replace the stock plastic unit on Tamiya CW-01 based kits such as The Hornet and Grasshopper. Machined from solid aluminum, it includes a built-in spring mount so it mates with the original front suspension layout without altering factory geometry.

Fitment is limited to the listed Tamiya CW-01 platforms. This aftermarket hop-up increases stiffness and wear resistance versus the injection-molded arm, providing a stable mounting surface for the lower link and spring while maintaining the usual servo and steering linkage clearances for the CW-01 layout.

Installation notes: the arm uses the same mounting points as the factory lower arm and accepts standard CW-01 ball studs and hinge pins. During installation verify retention clips and steering knuckle clearance to prevent binding. Apply thread locker to metal-to-metal fasteners when needed and recheck spring mount seating after the first session to confirm preload and alignment.

Tuning role: replacing the plastic arm with aluminum reduces front flex and gives a firmer feel at the contact patch. Expect altered response through corners that may require complementary changes to spring rates, damper settings, or anti-roll adjustments on CW-01 cars.

Key specifications

  • Model Number: JR-LB02-BK
  • Compatibility: Tamiya CW-01, The Hornet, Grasshopper

Select this aluminum front lower arm when you want a direct, durable swap for CW-01 front suspension that preserves factory geometry and supports progressive front-end tuning.

This arm is designed for the CW-01 mounting layout used by Hornet kits, so no chassis modification is normally required; confirm your car uses standard CW-01 mounts before fitting.
It accepts standard CW-01 hinge pins and ball studs. Replace any worn hardware but special fasteners are generally not necessary.
Aluminum reduces flex compared with the stock plastic arm, producing a firmer front end and more predictable feedback; you may need to tweak springs or damping to balance the chassis.
Inspect mounting hardware after the initial run, check for wear at ball studs and pins, and use thread locker on metal fasteners if running in dusty or high-vibration conditions.
