This RC-scale upgrade swaps the stock plastic steering parts on the Tamiya CC-02 chassis for machined aluminium components built for hobby duty. The assembly centres on a 25T hi-torque servo saver machined from aluminium to mate with standard servo splines, plus aluminium tie rods that link the steering knuckles. The chosen materials and geometry aim to deliver firmer steering feedback and better wear resistance during off-road use.
Compatibility is with Tamiya CC-02 chassis components; confirm spline counts and steering link geometry before fitting. Installation takes place at the servo horn and linkage interfaces and typically involves removing the original plastic pieces, aligning tie rods, and securing fasteners to preserve neutral toe and steering centring. This is an RC accessory only and not intended for full-size vehicle use.
When tuning, make small toe adjustments and alter tie rod length incrementally to refine turn-in. A correctly set aluminium servo saver provides controlled compliance to reduce load on the servo output gear while routing forces through more durable tie rods.
