This ready-assembled rear differential is engineered for selected TAMIYA 1/10 chassis. The BBX52S replaces the BBX BB-01 factory rear differential (part 54471) and converts the original ball-style assembly into a steel bevel-gear unit made from 40Cr steel with a 52-tooth gear set. The unit ships preassembled and includes thin stainless washers to help fine-tune bearing clearance.
Installation notes: for TAMIYA BBX chassis remove the two foam spacers prior to fitting; XV01 installs directly without foam removal. Differential oil is not supplied and must be added separately. If you plan to fit this unit to both ends of a vehicle, purchase two sets.
Tuning and service guidance: two stainless 10x12x0.3mm shims are included to adjust bearing play, and using a medium-strength threadlocker on mounting fasteners is advised to prevent loosening during running. No special machining is required beyond standard rear gearbox disassembly on the listed chassis.
The BBX52S supplies a straightforward metal-gear upgrade path where a stronger steel bevel differential is preferred over the stock ball-type unit; follow the chassis-specific notes during fitment.
