The 1/700 scale kit recreates the Japanese Light Cruiser Kuma as it appeared in the late 1930s. Laid down in 1918, Kuma formed part of Japan's interwar naval plan and is shown here in its 1939-1940 configuration with three straight funnels, a simple bridge layout and single 14cm guns.
The Kuma class served mainly on escort and scouting tasks. This kit captures fine fittings such as degaussing cables and anchors molded directly onto the plastic, and it presents several armament layout options so modellers can reflect different wartime configurations.
Builders will find a compact but detailed project in this Kuma kit, with a finished length of 230mm. The box includes waterslide decals for authentic markings and a small metal part to assist flotation, improving display and diorama possibilities.
