Tamiya 28502 - 1/35 Fukuisaurus assembly overview

This 1/35 scale snap-fit plastic assembly kit recreates the herbivorous dinosaur Fukuisaurus and is offered as part of Tamiya's range of dinosaur models.

The real Fukuisaurus lived during the Early Cretaceous and is known from deposits around present-day Fukui, Japan, dated to roughly 120 million years ago. Estimated at about 5.2 meters in length, it had a beak-like front jaw and cheek teeth suited for processing plant material. Limb proportions indicate it could adopt both bipedal and quadrupedal postures, and it shared its environment with carnivores such as Fukuiraptor.

The kit captures body proportions and surface texture based on research conducted with the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and academic advisors. Parts are engineered for snap-fit assembly with Tamiya's CLIC LOC system so no adhesive is required for the major joins. Surface detail includes sculpted skin texture plus tooth and mouth anatomy, and the set includes a separate display stand. Two flat human silhouette figures are provided for scale comparison, along with a color leaflet and a paper scenery backdrop that can be painted or used as printed.

A scale representation focused on accurate proportions and surface detail, intended for hobbyists who assemble and display scale dinosaur subjects.

No glue is needed for the main assemblies because the kit uses Tamiya's snap-fit CLIC LOC system. You will still need paint and finishing materials to complete the model's final appearance.
Once built, the assembled Fukuisaurus measures approximately 130 to 140 millimeters from nose to tail.
The kit contains a separate display stand, two flat 2D human silhouette figures for scale comparison, a color information leaflet and a paper scenery background.
Surface textures, mouth and tooth shapes were developed with guidance from the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and academic advisors to reflect current reference material.
