The Honda RS1000 played a notable role in endurance competition thanks to its strong engineering and race durability. This 1/12 scale completed model by Tamiya 21150 captures the 1981 spec, including the air-cooled 4-stroke DOHC engine traced to the CB900F. The model reflects the bike's on-track history, noting a runner-up finish in the season standings and a triumph at the Suzuka 8 Hour event.
Compared with the assembly kit, this finished model adds refined touches such as an improved cowl screen, mesh-style pipes to suggest braided hoses, and extra elements like breather piping and visible front brake cabling. The engine shows careful paint finishes, the drive sprockets and chain are worked to scale, and the exhaust pipes display subtle gradation. Metallic decals on the front fork boost the faithful look for display collectors.
