The Tamiya 21005 kit recreates the Williams BMW FW24 from the 2002 Japan Grand Prix for experienced model builders. In 1/20 scale it captures J.P. Montoya's car, highlighting the aerodynamic bodywork and the BMW P82 engine. The detachable rear cowling can be built open or closed to display the engine bay, gearbox and rear suspension details.
Founded by Frank Williams and Patrick Head, WilliamsF1 rose to prominence in Formula One from 1977 onwards. The BMW partnership that began in 2000 produced the FW24, which combined evolutionary aerodynamics with mechanical upgrades over the FW23 while utilising a more powerful BMW P82 power unit.
